A Case of Primary Malignant Melanoma of the Nasal Cavity

Abstract
Primary malignant melanoma of the nasal and paranasal cavities are extremely rare in Korea, even occasional reports were found, mostly in western literature.
The author has recently experienced a case of primary malignant melanoma on the nasal fossa.
A 27 years old Korean male pilot was admitted to C.A.H. on Nov. 19, 1963 with chief complaints of nasal bleeding and obstruction.
Rhinoscopic examination of the left side revealed yellowish coated and .cauliflower like inferior turbinate and revealed histopathologically malignant melanoma originating from nasal mucous membrane.
The patient had received combined, Co60 teletherapy and chemotherapy. The patient was died from metastasis to the both lungs, liver and viscera after one year of admission.
The author report here the patient¢¥s clinicl course and brief review of the literatures of malignant melanoma originating in the nasal fossa.
